WHAT THE CRITICS AND THE WINEMAKER ARE SAYING
"Pascal Agrapart owns vineyards in the beautiful Côte des Blancs which he farms in harmony with the land, using no chemical treatments. This wine has notes of crème brûlée, wet stone and a hint of rhubarb – really crisp and dry with a hint of pear and bay leaf." Dawn Davies, MW"Always a vintage champagne, this cuvee comes from two selected vineyard blocks (Bionnes in CRAMANT and Champbouton in AVIZE) with the same geological profile. A thin layer of soil barely covering the chalk.
Precise, savory, and saline, Minéral offers us the chalky dimension of the terroir.
Disgorged 2 months before the release date and dosage limited at 3 grams of sugar per liter." Maison Agrapart
Founded in 1894, Champagne Agrapart has become one of the finest grower estates in the Cote des Blancs. The current owner, Pascal Agrapart, has been making wines there since 1984. The 12 hectares of vines that make up the estate lie largely in the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Cramant, Oiry, and Oger. Pascal Agrapart works according to natural rhythms and sensibilities, without any chemical pesticides or herbicides. He always ferments his wines with indigenous yeasts, which he feels is crucial to the expression of terroir, and a portion of the wines are aged in old, 600-liter oak casks. The organic life of the soil assures the health and productivity of the vineyard.
This cuvee comes from a single vineyard of 60 acres in Avize (Fausse aux Pourceaux). This vineyard has solemnly been worked by men and horses. Venus is the single vineyard emblem.
