WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING
The 2017 Carbonnieux Blanc has a very harmonious bouquet with scents of lime, white flowers, melon and grapefruit that gradually unfold with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a little more weight and persistence than the Deuxième Vin, though truth is that there is not an enormous qualitative difference between the two. But here I appreciate the salinity on the finish and I suspect it will age with style.
91pts James Suckling
Attractive tropical-fruit aromas with mangoes and papaya, as well as peaches. The palate delivers a smooth and juicy feel with supple peaches and lemons, cast in fleshy mode. A blend of 60% sauvignon blanc and 40% semillon.
91pts Wine Advocate
The Carbonnieux 2017 Blanc is scented of grapefruit and squeezed lemons with a touch of lime leaves and chalk dust. The palate is medium-bodied, crisp and clean with great intensity and a long racy finish.
