WHAT THE WINEMAKERS ARE SAYING

92pts JS – “Pale copper-colored rose with aromas of raspberries, sliced apples, nectarines, dried pineapple and apricot stones. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a sleek, smooth texture. Firm and focused with saline undertones. Serious rosé. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.” James Suckling

OUR NOTES

On the slopes of one of the steepest, craggiest hills on the estate, the medieval-era Knights Templar built a fort that can be seen to this day. To commemorate the builders, L’Escarelle very finest wine bears the famous cross of the Order of the Knights Templar.

Perfectly located among the green hills of Provence, Chateau de l'Escarelle's vineyard is forever evolving and renewing itself. The property's 100 hectares of vines flourish in a beautiful protected green setting of 1,000 hectares.

The vines are planted on soil consisting of limestone pebbles, on terraces separated by dry-stone walls at an altitude of up to 500 metres, harmoniously following the shape of Escarelle's hills and montagne de la Loube.

This variation in altitude contributes to the terroir's special character, enabling the vinification of very expressive wines, thereby defining Escarelle's unique, sophisticated signature.

Their various grapes varieties, consisting of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Rolle and Caladoc have been carefully selected for each terroir, and each plot…The rosés, rich in Cinsault and Grenache, are fruity, elegant and sensual.

The estate's owner is deeply committed to preserving and bringing out the best in this natural environment that has so much potential, and has undertaken various projects, such as the restoration of existing buildings for wine and nature tourism, and also an organic certification of the entire estate.
