Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: 100% Chardonnay
Tasting notes: Aromas of orange rind, pear and musky peach, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate. There is good tension here, and a briskly citric, lightly spiced finish.
About the winery: Do you know that the Domaine de Montille Le Clos du Chateau is surrounded by the famous Puligny-Montrachet vineyard? In 2012, Etienne de Montille bought the Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet. The plot around the Chateau is called Le Clos du Chateau, and as curious as it is, this plot is not included in the Puligny-Montrachet area, even if the Chateau got the name! So, Etienne can't put the name Puligny-Montrachet on the label.
In 2017, Etienne de Montille decided to commercialize all his production under his name and changed the name of Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet - Le Clos du Chateau, to Domaine de Montille - Le Clos du Chateau, but what you have in the glass is a baby Puligny-Montrachet with smooth price!
