Champagne Delamotte - Blanc de Blancs - Collection 2002 in wooden box - 750 ml
WHAT THE WINEMAKERS ARE SAYING
“A selection of the greatest vintages has been ageing in our cellars. This includes the Blanc de Blancs 1999, 2002 and 2004. Disgorged upon request after a minimum of 15 years of maturation on the lees, these "Collection" wines are reaching their peak but retain a freshness and zing, albeit tamed by the years.” Champagne Delamotte"This new release of Delamotte's 2002 Blanc de Blancs Millésimé Collection is showing as well as ever, wafting from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, lemon curd, crisp yellow apple, toasted brioche and nougat. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's generous but incisive, with an ample core of fruit, ripe but racy acids and a long, elegantly toasty finish. While it's already drinking well it will show even more complexity with a few more years on cork." 94 points, William Kelley
Delamotte is one of Champagne’s oldest houses. François Delamotte – a vineyard owner in Reims – founded the House in 1760. Its location is one of Delamotte’s richest assets. Hidden away in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the flora and the sloping vineyards give the grapes their exceptional character, delivering delicate, consistent champagnes. The soil is chalky. Championing this exceptional terroir, drawing the best from it while maintaining absolute respect for the vines and the environment - that's what Delamotte is all about.
