WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING
“Clover and apple blossom with a discreet whiff of chalk in the nose lead to an oily and expansive yet buoyant and refreshing palate, its fresh apple and pear suffused with savory sweet-saline and iodine-tinged crustacean shell reduction. Piquant hickory and black walnut as well as chewy apple skin are subtly integrated so that they serve for insistent, low-grade excitation. This high-umami, mouthwatering cuvee displays a combination of textural richness with lift and elegant restraint that represent outstanding value for this genre.” David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate
Delamotte is one of Champagne’s oldest houses. François Delamotte – a vineyard owner in Reims – founded the House in 1760. Its location is one of Delamotte’s richest assets. Hidden away in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the flora and the sloping vineyards give the grapes their exceptional character, delivering delicate, consistent champagnes. The soil is chalky. Championing this exceptional terroir, drawing the best from it while maintaining absolute respect for the vines and the environment - that's what Delamotte is all about.
