Very beautiful garnet colour with purple tints. The nose is rich with black fruits aromas of blackcurrant and black berries with spicy notes. In the mouth, the wine is full. Tannins are silky with a good length. The wine develops chocolate notes and black fruits aromas. A superb wine, with all the poise and balance expected of a Premier Cru.

After maceration free and press juices are separated for aging. Aging process is taking place 100% in traditional Burgundian 228 liters barrels Malolactic fermentation is done.
Only French oak coming mainly from Bourgogne, Allier and Vosges forests.

The Abbey of Ferté, established in 1113 is a well-known place of spirituality in Burgundy. Very fast, the monks and the brothers lay develop their possessions and run vineyards in Givry. The Thenard family acquires the abbey in 1793.

The soil of Givry has a very ancient quality reputation which it considers of course of its argilo-calcareous grounds, but especially its Southeast exposed slopes and partially, as the best of them, the South. It is the case of the Premier Cru “La Servoisine“.

The 6.25 acres of Domaine de la Ferte - of which 2.5 are amongst the most renowned Premiers Crus of the appellation - are planted with 10 000 plants/2.5 acre, according to Burgundy tradition. This is the most important density, compared to all other wine producing areas, and a practice that guarantees high quality wines. Vineyards are run in a reasoned wine-growing way. The medium age of the vineyards is 35 years old.
