Wine Region:Bordeaux - France
Grape: 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc.
Tasting notes:
"The 2016 Grand-Ormeau has a crisp and well-defined bouquet with blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, a touch of oyster shell developing with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity, a dash of spice towards the well balanced and detailed, damn delicious finish. Everything seems to be in place for an excellent Lalande-de-Pomerol once cork is in bottle." Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
Expert rating : Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 92/100
How to enjoy : The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, good acidity and will be perfect with red meat, game, cheese and chocolate desserts.
About the winery:
Domaine du Grand Ormeau Lalande de Pomerol is from the prestigious Lalande de Pomerol Appellation produced by a long standing family estate. This wine has a wonderful warm welcoming nose, full concentrated fruit with some liquorice notes. Lovely lingering aftertaste that welcomes you back for more. Complimentary oak ageing balances the deep fruit concentration and fine tannins. Made using 80% Merlot 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. This wine also has good ageing potential. The 2016 is a lovely wine showing great potential - a little tannic now but will improve to be a star wine.
