Wine Region: Loire Valley - France
Grape: 100% Sauvignon.
Tasting notes: 'The nose is composed of floral notes and aromas of citrus and apricot. Mouth of fresh fruit (peach, tangerine) that balances the unctuous and warm character of the wine and brings a dynamism strengthened by a pretty minty finish.'
About a winery: Domaine Regis Jouan is located in Sury En Vaux, one of 13 municipalities covering the Sancerre appellation. It is near the left bank of the Loire, a rich terroir with such a unique charm.
The average age of the southwest-facing vines is 25 years old. The clay and limestone soil date back to the Upper Jurassic era. This exposure shows the mysteries of Sancerre Jouan: a distinctly fruity aroma and a strong structure at the same time. The strict and careful vinification and aging in steel casks contribute to its character.
