Chassagne-Montrachet

Chassagne-Montrachet sits at the southern end of Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and shares two of the world's greatest white wine Grand Crus — Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet — with neighbouring Puligny-Montrachet. Once known primarily for red wine, the village has shifted decisively toward Chardonnay over the past century, and its white wines now define its reputation: rich, nutty, and textured, with more weight and less austerity than Puligny's more mineral style.

Chassagne-Montrachet also produces excellent red wine from its Premier Cru sites, offering a rare chance to explore both colours from a single, historic appellation. A village that rewards exploration beyond its most famous neighbours.
