Château Giscours
With over 80 hectares of vineyards in the commune of Labarde, Château Giscours is one of the largest and most prestigious estates in the Margaux appellation, ranked as a Troisième Cru Classé (Third Growth) in the 1855 Classification.
The estate was revitalized after its purchase by Nicolas Tari in 1952, who invested heavily to restore both the château and its vineyards. Since 1995, under the ownership of Dutch businessman Eric Albada Jelgersma, Giscours has further cemented its reputation, producing wines worthy of its classification.
The vineyard is planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), with Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). Fermented in temperature-controlled tanks and aged for 18 months in French oak (30–40% new), the wines of Giscours are known for their aromatic richness, power, and elegance, offering layers of ripe black fruit, cedar, and refined oak spice.
