Our Burgaud selection is handpicked for its authentic expression of Côte du Py terroir, the integrity of the estate's old vine farming, and the wines' remarkable depth and ageing potential for the price. Based in Morgon at the heart of Beaujolais, Jean-Marc Burgaud works 19 hectares of granite and schist soils, with vines averaging over 40 years of age. Using whole-cluster carbonic maceration and careful élevage in both tank and barrel, he produces Gamay of a completely different register to the light, early-drinking style most people expect from Beaujolais — structured, mineral, and genuinely age-worthy. The Côte du Py, Morgon's most celebrated hillside, sits at the core of the range, with the single-parcel 'James' cuvée representing the domaine's finest expression.
