Santenay

Santenay is the southernmost village of Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, marking the transition point before the region gives way to the Côte Chalonnaise. Long considered a source of solid, unpretentious red wine, Santenay has been quietly building a reputation for real quality among growers willing to farm its varied limestone and clay soils with care.

Its Premier Crus, including Les Gravières and La Comme, offer structured, savoury Pinot Noir with genuine ageing potential at prices well below the more famous villages further north. Increasingly recognised as one of Burgundy's better value destinations for serious, terroir-driven red wine.
