Aloxe-Corton

Aloxe-Corton is the historic heart of Burgundy's Corton hill, the only Grand Cru red wine appellation on the Côte de Beaune. The village itself gives its name to the surrounding vineyards, with the hill of Corton rising above it crowned by a distinctive band of trees that separates the red Grand Cru vines below from the white Corton-Charlemagne vines near the summit.

Aloxe-Corton's village and Premier Cru wines offer an accessible way into this legendary terroir — structured, savoury Pinot Noir with the power characteristic of Corton, if not quite the full intensity of the Grand Cru itself. A serious, often underrated corner of the Côte de Beaune.
