Corsican Wines

Patrimonio, on Corsica's north coast, became the island's first AOC in 1968, anchoring a wine tradition that stretches back to Greek and Roman settlement of the "Île de Beauté." Its native grapes — Nielluccio, a close relative of Sangiovese, the deeply coloured Sciaccarellu, and aromatic Vermentinu — thrive on schist, granite, and limestone soils shaped by Mediterranean sun and mountain breezes, increasingly farmed organically and biodynamically.
