Tasting notes
"Era Ora!", which means “It’s about time” in Corsican, perfectly captures the spirit behind this long-anticipated cuvée from Domaine Yves Leccia. For years, the idea had been quietly maturing—just like the wine itself.
Unlike their classic Patrimonio wines, which are aged in stainless steel tanks, Era Ora is aged for 18 months in wooden casks. This marks a deliberate exploration of how oak can elevate and reveal a new dimension of the domaine’s reds and whites.
And as a playful nod to their roots, it’s worth noting: "Leccia" means "oak" in Corsican. As Yves often says, “It was time to let our wines meet their namesake.”
More About The Winery
Based in Patrimonio, the oldest appellation of Corsica, Yves Leccia is widely recognized as one of the island’s most influential winemakers. Coming from a family of vignerons and with decades of experience, Yves Leccia has dedicated his career to showcasing the authenticity of Corsican terroir, combining respect for tradition with innovative vision.
The domaine cultivates indigenous varieties such as Niellucciu, Vermentinu, Biancu Gentile, and Grenache, rooted in limestone and schist soils that give the wines their hallmark minerality, freshness, and elegance. Working with minimal intervention and sustainable practices, Yves Leccia produces wines of purity and precision, whether it be the structured reds of Patrimonio or the vibrant whites and rosés of the Île de Beauté.
Highly regarded by sommeliers and collectors worldwide, the wines of Yves Leccia capture the soul of Corsica — powerful yet refined, deeply expressive of their Mediterranean landscape.
