Champagne Elise Bougy
Based in Les Mesneux, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, Élise Bougy returned to her family's estate in 2016 after studying oenology in Dijon, with a mission to restore harmony and biodiversity to the vineyards of her native Champagne. Her three hectares are split between Les Mesneux and the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs, planted to Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay across chalk soils layered with clay and limestone.
What sets the estate apart is its commitment to organic and biodynamic farming — certified organic with Ecocert and biodynamic since 2021 — paired with minimal-intervention winemaking in the cellar: indigenous yeast fermentations, full malolactic conversion, ageing across oak barrels, stainless steel and wooden vats, and no fining or filtration, with sulfur kept to a minimum or left out entirely.
The domaine produces around 10,000 bottles a year across six cuvées, each carrying one of Élise's own hand-painted labels. The range spans Blanc de Noirs and Blanc de Blancs across Premier and Grand Cru sites, including Le Mont Chainqueux from 1965-planted vines in Les Mesneux, and three Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Crus — Sous Le Mont Blanc, Les Coullemets (a plot once farmed by her grandmother) and Chétillon de Haut.
The style of Champagne Elise Bougy is defined by precision, purity and chalk-driven minerality — wines built on extended lees ageing and low dosage, made to express each parcel's terroir with clarity and restraint.
