Founded in 1998 by Frédéric Pourtalié, Domaine de Montcalmès has quickly risen to become one of the most respected estates in the Languedoc, producing wines of precision, balance, and elegance. Pourtalié trained under some of France’s greatest winemakers — Alain Graillot, Olivier Jullien (Mas Jullien), and Laurent Vaillé (La Grange des Pères) — before establishing his own domaine.

The estate lies near the village of Aniane, in the prestigious Terrasses du Larzac appellation, alongside icons such as Mas de Daumas Gassac and La Grange des Pères. Today, Montcalmès cultivates 22 hectares of vineyards planted with Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, producing wines that reflect both Mediterranean sunshine and limestone freshness.

Renowned for their depth, aromatic purity, and ageing potential, Montcalmès wines are now regarded among the finest in Southern France, a must-have for collectors and wine enthusiasts seeking terroir-driven Languedoc.
