Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges lends its name to the entire Côte de Nuits and produces some of Burgundy's most robust, savoury Pinot Noir. Split across two zones — one closer to Vosne-Romanée with lighter, more perfumed wines, the other toward Premeaux-Prissey with firmer, earthier character — the appellation has no Grand Cru of its own but boasts an exceptional roster of Premier Crus, including Les Saint-Georges, Les Vaucrains, and Les Pruliers.

These are wines built on structure: dark fruit, game, and a distinctive earthy, almost meaty character that rewards patience. Historically one of the first Burgundies exported abroad, Nuits-Saint-Georges remains a benchmark for serious, age-worthy Pinot Noir at relatively accessible prices for the quality on offer.
