Château Palmer

Classified as a Third Growth (Troisième Grand Cru Classé) in 1855, Château Palmer is one of the most prestigious estates of the Margaux appellation, admired for producing wines of perfume, power, and sensuality. Its history dates back to 1814, when the property was purchased by English general Charles Palmer, whose name it proudly carries today.

The château’s 55 hectares of vineyards rest on Margaux’s famed gravelly soils, planted with an unusually high proportion of Merlot, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. This distinctive blend gives Palmer its signature style — wines that are opulent, silky, and aromatic, while retaining the structure and longevity of great Médoc.

Renowned for its innovation, Palmer has embraced biodynamic viticulture across the estate, reinforcing its commitment to terroir and environmental harmony. The flagship Grand Vin de Château Palmer is celebrated for its complexity and ageing potential, while the second wine, Alter Ego de Palmer, offers a more accessible expression of the estate’s elegance.
