Yann Durieux

The Domain

Before launching his own domaine, Yann Durieux spent ten formative years as vineyard manager at the iconic Domaine Prieuré Roch. In 2010, he struck out on his own, settling in the lesser-known village of Messanges, in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. What began as a financial necessity soon revealed itself as a creative opportunity: here, free from the constraints of Burgundy’s appellation system, Durieux found a blank slate on which to express his uncompromising vision.

The Style

Working exclusively with old vines and committed to biodynamic farming, Yann brings extraordinary precision and respect for life to every stage of viticulture. In the cellar, he lets nature speak—minimal intervention, whole cluster fermentations, virtually no sulfur, and minuscule yields (5 to 10 hl/ha). The results are wines of electric energy, crystal-clear purity, and an almost tactile finesse—wines that rival the finest from the Côte d’Or, yet exist entirely outside its boundaries.
