Tasting notes
The wine displays a radiant, beautiful ruby red hue. On the nose, delicate aromas of raspberry emerge first, gradually unfolding into more expressive notes of strawberry, red cherry, rose petals, damp earth, mushrooms, and field grasses. With aeration, nuances of ripe black fruits and fine spices gain depth and intensity.
On the palate, the wine is bright, juicy, and round, with a fluid texture and a finely judged balance between fresh acidity and light, crunchy tannins. Layers of fruit and berry flavors intertwine with elegant spicy notes, supported by a clear mineral backbone. The finish is dry, piquant, and long, marked by vibrant energy.
Overall, it is an elegant, light-bodied, pure-fruited expression of Pinot Noir, distinguished by its electric tension and crystalline clarity.
More About The Winery
Before launching his own domaine, Yann Durieux spent ten formative years as vineyard manager at the iconic Domaine Prieuré Roch. In 2010, he struck out on his own, settling in the lesser-known village of Messanges, in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. What began as a financial necessity soon revealed itself as a creative opportunity: here, free from the constraints of Burgundy’s appellation system, Durieux found a blank slate on which to express his uncompromising vision.
