Domaine Fernand et Laurent Pillot

Chassagne-Montrachet

The Domain

The origins Pillot go back to the XVIIth Century in Chassagne, our ancestors used to work in the vineyard, to make wine and especially to produce barrels. In the XIXth century the Pillot family have abandoned the barrel making and have shifted to vines while enlarging the property on the hillside of Chassagne-Montrachet. Fernand and his son Laurent, the 4th generation, again spread the domain in 1992, then in 2001 with the resumption of vineyards Pothier-Rieusset in Pommard.

Today, we run 14,8 ha for a total of 22 appellations. Our vineyards are concentrated on Chassagne-Montrachet and Pommard terroirs mainly, but also on the soils of Santeany, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Beaune.

The Style

Hand selected bunches of fruit are vinified and matured in a simple yet carefully built modern winery keeping where appropriate with traditional burgundy practices. Our vineyards are worked "agrobiologie" with big care and soils are cultivated without uses of chemical weed-killers there. We are members of the research group Dephy-ECO-phyto since 2012.
