Côte de Beaune

The Domain

Francois d'Allaines started his eponymous wine business in 1996 in the village of Demigny in Burgundy just across the A6 from the famous villages of the Cote de Beaune after a career in the hotel trade and then training at the prestigious Lycee Viticole de Beaune.

He specialises in the wines of the Cote de Beaune and the Cote Chalonnaise buying from growers with whom he has built long relationships and who share his respect for the terroir. Francois d’Allaines is passionate about Burgundy and its wines. Both winegrower and merchant, he believes in ripe grapes and long aging to reveal all the finesse and magic of the Burgundy terroirs. Whether the grapes come from his own vines (in Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault or Pommard) or purchased from serious winegrowers, he knows how to step aside so that the wines reveal their own personality. He is always looking for wines with character, powerful and elegant, authentic and easy to drink.
