The Domain
The story of Armagnac Delord began in 1893, when Prosper Delord, a traveling distiller and cellar master, carried his alambic from farm to farm, transforming white wine into the noble spirit of Armagnac.
In 1932, Prosper’s sons, Gaston and Georges, founded the official Maison Armagnac Delord Frères in their hometown of Lannepax. As producers, distillers, and merchants, they began exporting their Bas-Armagnacs across the Atlantic, with the United States becoming one of their early markets.
By 1963, the next generation took over, with Jacques, Gaston’s eldest son, continuing the adventure. Ten years later, in 1973, his brother Pierre joined him, and together they carried forward the family tradition with passion and dedication.
In 2001, Jacques’s sons, Sylvain and Jérôme, became the fourth generation to run the maison. Each brought his own expertise: Sylvain overseeing production, blending, and cellar work, and Jérôme focusing on promotion and development. This fraternal balance continues to shape Delord’s identity.
In 2020, the brothers returned to their roots by acquiring the Galaubas estate—75 hectares of certified organic farmland, including 5 hectares of vines, a manor house, a maturation cellar, and several outbuildings. This acquisition reinforced the family’s deep connection to its land and its future.
By 2022, Jérôme and Sylvain had fully integrated Galaubas into the Delord story, combining heritage, organic farming, and innovation to carry the maison proudly into a new century.

The Style
At the heart of Bas-Armagnac, in the village of Lannepax, lies the esteemed Maison Delord. The estate spans approximately 66 hectares, including 6 hectares of organic vines, meticulously divided into seven parcels. The vineyards cultivate the four traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Ugni Blanc (58%), Colombard (16%), Folle Blanche (14%), and Baco (12%).
A few steps away from the vineyards, the onsite winemaking cellar sees each grape variety harvested, pressed, and vinified separately under the care of Sylvain Delord. Through precise temperature control, settling, and racking, they produce aromatic, slightly acidic, and low-alcohol musts—ideal for crafting high-quality Armagnac.
The distillery, located in the family’s home village, is one of the few in the region that still practices both traditional continuous distillation and double distillation. It houses two iconic column stills—including a historic Sier still from 1900—fitted with specialized “spider plates” for producing fine, age-worthy eaux-de-vie.
Armagnac Delord’s style is marked by authenticity, balance, and aromatic depth. Each expression reflects the unique character of Bas-Armagnac: rich and full-bodied, yet always elegant and refined. The younger Armagnacs show vibrant fruit, spice, and freshness, while the older vintages evolve into complex layers of dried fruits, vanilla, cocoa, and rancio—the noble oxidative notes prized by connoisseurs.
Thanks to the diversity of grape varieties, the double mastery of distillation, and the patient work of maturation, Delord produces Armagnacs that are both approachable for discovery and exceptional for collectors, embodying the very soul of Gascony in every glass.
