Château Pichon Baron

Classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in 1855, Château Pichon Baron is one of the most prestigious estates of Pauillac, standing majestically along the Médoc’s famed Route des Châteaux. With significant replanting and modern investments, the estate has reached a level of excellence that rivals Bordeaux’s First Growths.

The vineyard covers 73 hectares of prime gravel soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, a mosaic of exceptional terroirs perfectly suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Precision is at the heart of the estate’s philosophy: under the direction of Christian Seely since 2001, meticulous parcel selection and blending ensure wines of finesse, power, and concentration.

The Grand Vin de Pichon Baron is a benchmark Pauillac: densely structured, complex, and built for decades of cellaring, with layers of cassis, cedar, graphite, and spice unfolding into a long, elegant finish. Alongside the Grand Vin, the château also produces the highly regarded second wine, Les Griffons de Pichon Baron and Les Tourelles de Longueville, offering more approachable expressions of the estate’s terroir.
