Wine Region: Cognac - Grande Champagne - France
Grape: 100 % GRANDE CHAMPAGNE - PREMIER CRU DE COGNAC
Tasting notes:
The palate is supple, smooth, rich and luxurious, with an exceptionally long finish in which all the flavours combine in a subtle and complex harmony. Notes on the bouquet include the famous «rancio» (oxidative notes) found in Grande Champagne cognacs distilled over lees and aged for several decades. To be enjoyed on its own or as an accompaniment for a special tasting experience beloved of both amateurs and the most experienced enthusiasts. An exceptional after-dinner drink thanks to its fruitiness and finesse.
«Suppleness, exceptionally long finish… can be enjoyed to infinity!».

How to Enjoy:
This particular Frapin Extra Cognac is best enjoyed neat, but also with a dessert. The long finish and supple taste means that it goes well with the likes of creme brulee and tarte tatin. It is at 40% ABV and comes in a 700ml bottle. It also exists as 50 ml bottle, if you want to give it a try. The number of bottles is limited, and individually numbered. The decanter itself is particularly spectacular with its retro character and contemporary disc-shape. With a golden cap, it takes inspiration from the int jewelry craft.
About the winery:
Frapin is one of the oldest producers of Cognac in France. Indeed, not only is the family’s history closely intertwined with the history of Cognac, its predates it by several centuries.
The Frapin family first appeared in what would become the Cognac region in 1270. The family have been wine growers, and later distillers, for 21 generations. Their 750-acre estate, the Chateau de Fontpinot in Segonzac, set in the heart of Cognac’s Grand Champagne district, has 600 acres of ugni blanc vineyards. It is the only Cognac producer that is classified as a Chateau.
All of the grapes come from the estate in the Grand Champagne appellation. This district is considered the heart of Cognac, and is the source of its greatest Cognacs. Frapin distills its base wine on the lees, giving the resulting spirit a creamier, more substantial palate weight.
