Monthelie

Monthelie is a small village on Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, tucked in a valley between the far more famous appellations of Volnay and Meursault — and sharing much of the character of both. The reds echo Volnay's silky elegance, while the smaller production of white wine leans toward the richness of neighbouring Meursault.

With no Grand Cru and only a handful of Premier Crus, Monthelie has stayed largely under the radar, which keeps prices sensible for wines that draw on genuinely prestigious neighbouring terroir. A well-kept secret for those chasing Volnay-style Pinot Noir without the Volnay price tag.
