Domaine du Grand Ormeau

Founded in 1866 and passed down through generations, Domaine du Grand Ormeau is a family-owned estate in the prestigious Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, dedicated to producing wines of character and authenticity.

The 15-hectare vineyard, with an average vine age of 40 years, is planted predominantly with Merlot (80%), supported by Cabernet Franc (10%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The soils — a mix of clay, gravel, and deep gravels — give depth, freshness, and structure to the wines. Sustainable viticulture, including soil tillage and alternating grass cover, ensures respect for the land and balance in the vineyard.

In the cellar, fermentations take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with ageing partly in oak barrels to preserve the typicity and authenticity of the terroir. Certified HVE 3 (High Environmental Value) since the 2018 vintage, the domaine reflects a strong commitment to environmental responsibility.

Domaine du Grand Ormeau wines are expressive, elegant, and structured, offering the supple fruit of Merlot with the finesse and ageing potential of classic Right Bank Bordeaux.
