Founded in 1270, Cognac Frapin stands as one of the oldest single-family-owned cognac houses, tracing over 20 generations of heritage in the Grande Champagne, the most prestigious cru of Cognac.
Set within its own 240 hectares in Grande Champagne, Frapin cultivates exclusively on its estate—an extraordinary practice for a maison bearing the "Château" denomination. Nestled around Château Fontpinot, the estate benefits from prime clay-limestone soils, paired with savoir-faire passed down across centuries.
True to tradition, Frapin applies double distillation on lees in six 25-hectoliter Charentais copper stills, delivering exceptional texture and length. Their aging mastery continues in distinct cellar atmospheres: humid cellars at ground level impart roundness, while dry attics lend finesse and elegance.

Frapin distinguishes itself as the only cognac house located entirely within Grande Champagne to bear the title “Château.” Their estate spans 240 hectares planted exclusively with Ugni Blanc, a grape known for its late ripening, natural acidity, and ideal balance—critical traits for aging and aromatic complexity in cognac.
