Château l'Escadre

Owned by the Carreau family since 1832, Château l’Escadre is now in the hands of the 7th generation, carrying nearly two centuries of winemaking tradition. The estate spans 60 hectares of vineyards, beautifully situated on the hillsides overlooking the Gironde River, at the heart of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation.

The Carreau family philosophy combines respect for tradition with modern precision: time-honored vineyard practices are enhanced by careful innovation to continually improve quality. Today, Sébastien Carreau oversees winemaking, while Nicolas Carreau manages the estate and its development.

Château l’Escadre produces wines that reflect the rich terroir of Blaye — approachable yet structured, fruit-driven with depth, and excellent value for Bordeaux lovers.
