Savigny-lès-Beaune sits in a small valley just north of Beaune on Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, sheltered between the hills of Beaune and Aloxe-Corton. The appellation produces predominantly red wine of real charm — lighter and fresher than the wines of Beaune or Pommard, with bright red fruit and a distinctive herbal, savoury edge that reflects the cooler valley microclimate.
