Provenance

Château de l'Escarelle

Beaujolais

The Domain

Perfectly located among the green hills of Provence, Château de l'Escarelle's vineyard is forever evolving and renewing itself.
The property's 100 hectares of vines flourish in a beautiful protected green setting of 1,000 hectares. The vines are planted on soil consisting of limestone pebbles, on terraces separated by dry-stone walls at an altitude of up to 500 metres, harmoniously following the shape of Escarelle's hills and montagne de la Loube. This variation in altitude contributes to the terroir's special character, enabling the vinification of very expressive wines, thereby defining Escarelle's unique, sophisticated signature.

The Style

Located in the regional natural park of La Sainte Baume, the vineyard upholds the tradition of growing Mediterranean grape varieties on terraces separated by dry-stone walls on the slopes of Montagne de la Loube.
The winery benefits from the latest generation of presses, a particularly meticulous sorting system and a battery of thermo-regulated stainless steel vats. The modernity of the installations and the rigour of their winery manager guarantee impeccable vinification hygiene. These powerful new environmentally-friendly vinification techniques guarantee a high level of quality and excellent evolution over time.
Château de l'Escarelle's rosés, rich in Cinsault and Grenache, are fruity, elegant and sensual. Their whites, a blend of Rolle and Ugni Blanc, offer citrus aromas, with a pleasant acidity and good volume on the palate. A blend of Grenache and Cinsault ensure that Escarelle's reds can be aged in the cellar for many years.
