Grape
Mainly Grenache Noir (vinified as a white wine), with Vermentinu
Tasting notes
A rare white made mostly from old-vine Grenache Noir, gently pressed straight after harvest so the juice stays pale. Light yellow in colour, it opens with green apple, fresh pear and lemon zest, with hints of orange peel and grapefruit. The palate is fresh and precise, with citrus and white-fruit flavours, a lovely salinity and lively acidity, leading to a clean, persistent finish. Serve at 11-13°C with grilled fish, seafood, scallop risotto or creamy white meats.
About the Winery
Domaine Giudicelli is a small family estate in Poggio d'Oletta, in the Patrimonio appellation of northern Corsica, run by Muriel Giudicelli since 1997. She farms around 10.5 hectares of vines, averaging 25 years old, and the estate is certified biodynamic.
Working with Corsica's native grapes, Niellucciu for the reds and Vermentinu for the whites, alongside Grenache and Sciaccarellu, Muriel crafts some of the most elegant and refined wines of Patrimonio, with the island's signature saline freshness. Her Blanc de Noirs is a rarity at the domaine, made in very small quantities.
