Wine Region: Patrimonio, Corsica - France
Grape: 100% Vermentino
Tasting notes: "Era Ora !", literally means "it's about time" in Corsican.
The idea of this cuvee had already been brewing for a few years. They really wanted to see what wood could bring to the classic maturation of their Patrimonio red and white (their regular cuvee is aged in stainless steel tank). And, above all, to help the customer discover a new facet of their wines.
Era Ora is aged 18 months in wooden casks. Just for the record "Leccia" means "oak" in Corsican so Yves is always saying "it was time to try to age our wines in wooden casks".
About the Winery: The Yves Leccia estate, created in 2004 by Yves and Sandrine Leccia, is the only estate to produce wines on the unique terroirs of E Croce and Partinelone in AOC Patrimonio. The estate, currently under conversion to organic farming, is located opposite the Gulf of Saint-Florent. These terroirs thus benefit from a microclimate which brings freshness and minerality to the wines of the estate. These wines for ageing all have a strong identity subtly revealed by the precise and meticulous work of Yves, a Corsican winegrower committed for more than 30 years. Thanks to perfect management of yields, it ensures magnificent results enhanced by the precision and rigor of its vinification. One of the safe bets of the Patrimonio appellation! A real terroir wine, this bracing and slightly salty white wine mingles notes of white flowers, hawthorn and honey in unfeigned indulgence.
