Tasting notes
The 2024 ‘Lantignié’ from Jean-Marc Burgaud is a vibrant and finely etched expression of Gamay, shaped by the distinctive pink granite soils of this rising Beaujolais terroir. Slightly deeper in profile than the 2023, it reveals an aromatic spectrum of dark berries—black cherry and blackberry—lifted by a tangy, fresh edge.
On the palate, the wine is precise and energetic, driven by a beautifully “crunchy” fruit core and a striking mineral backbone. The balance is impeccable, combining juiciness with tension, leading to a clean, lively, and persistent finish.
More About The Winery
Based in Morgon, Jean-Marc Burgaud is one of Beaujolais’ rising stars, known for crafting pure, structured Gamay from his 19 hectares of old vines. His vineyards, averaging 40+ years, lie on granite and schist soils, with the famed Côte du Py delivering wines of striking depth and minerality.
Using traditional Beaujolais methods with whole-cluster carbonic maceration and careful élevage in both tank and barrel, Burgaud produces wines that are bright, fruit-driven, and age-worthy. Expect vivid notes of mulberries, cherries, and spice wrapped in freshness and precision.
