Light in colour becoming more golden with age. Lively aromas and minerals, with floral notes. Minerality prevails in the mouth, with lots of freshness. Very dry with perfect finesse, this Chablis Premier Cru is structured with a long finish.

Expert Reviews:

90/100 Wine Enthusiast
'Fleshy and ripe, but anchored by a cool touch of steel, this is an immediately enjoyable entry-level Chablis. Yellow-apple and pear flavors are juicy and plump on the palate, accented by whispers of gunflint and salt. It's best enjoyed young.' Anna Lee C. Iijima

About the winery:
The story of the Maison François Martenot began at the beginning of the 20th century when Lucien Gustave Martenot acquired a 10-hectare estate in Savigny-lès-Beaune. This estate had been created in 1859 by Monsieur Léonce Bocquet, then the sole owner of the Château du Clos Vougeot and a fervent proponent of Bourgogne and its cultural heritage. The estate developed further with the acquisition of neighbouring land and considerable work was undertaken to plant vines. In July 1922, Lucien Gustave Martenot bought the estate to turn it into a great Bourgogne wine house. On his death, his daughter, Charlotte Martenot, would take over the running of the firm and its reputation would continue to grow. And so, down the generations, the Maison François Martenot, a worthy heir to its illustrious founders, has continued to grow to put its name to some quite unique wines.

"It is the wish of the Maison François Martenot to vinify their wines in a traditional manner, wines that reveal the grandeur and origin of the terroirs and climats in which they are grown, expressing each and every one of the infinite nuances of those regal grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir."
Serge De Bucy, Oenologist at Maison François Martenot
