Wine Region: Bordeaux - France
Grape: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc
Tasting notes:"Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Léoville Poyferré opens with notes of sautéed herbs and pencil shavings on the nose, giving way to scents of redcurrant jelly, baked plums and cedar chest plus a waft of cassis. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has pleasant energy and well-played, lightly chewy tannins with compelling freshness on the finish." Lisa Perrotti-Brown
Expert Ratings: Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94/100
About the Winery: Chateau Leoville Poyferre produces elegant, very fine, well-balanced and complex wines with an intense color and a velvety texture that have a very good aptitude for aging. The origin of the estate dates back to 1638. At that time, Léoville was the largest Medoc property, fragmented over time and generations. Léoville Poyferre initiated the legend of this great wine in 1840 and was consecrated fifteen years later as Second Grand Cru Classe.
