Wine Region:Bordeaux - France
Grape: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.
Tasting notes: “Balance makes this wine so impressive. Ripe and rich black fruits are laden with firm tannins without losing sight of their freshness. The structure and solid character of the wine point to good aging. Drink from 2018” Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast.
Expert Rating:Wine Enthusiast, 91/100.
How to Enjoy: With rib roast, pork long ribs on the barbeque, stuffed veal breast roast.
About the winery: Château Devise D'Ardilley was created in 1991. It has modern winemaking facilities and vine plots which have gradually been grouped together and replanted. The estate was bought in 2000 by Madeleine and Jacques Philippe, realising a personal dream: born in the Bordeaux area, Madeleine wanted to return to her roots, while Philippe, a qualified engineer having pursued a career with a major services company, wanted to become a winegrower. Their dream became a reality and the wine obtained Cru Bourgeois status in the 2003 classification.
