About the Winery:
Fonbadet is a vineyard which is close to the greatest wines of Bordeaux: Mouton Rothschild, Lynch-Bages, Latour, Pichon Baron or Pichon Comtesse. It is still today the property of the Peyronie family. With a history of winemaking dating back to 1700, it relies on illustrious members who have contributed to the development of the vineyard and the quality of the wines. One of Pascale's great-great-grandfather (Peyronie) was the steward of Chateau Lafite. She has been managing the Pauillac estate since the 2000 vintage.
With an average age of 50 years, the vines give one of the lowest yields in the Pauillac appellation, naturally. No insecticides or weed killers are used to preserve the soil.
The vinification is done in thermo-regulated concrete vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels with 40% new wood and lasts between 16 and 18 months.
