Tasting notes
This wine shows a beautiful golden-yellow hue, bright and luminous. The nose is complex and expressive, with layers of ripe pear, delicate spices, white flowers, and exotic fruits, enriched by subtle toasted notes, a gentle oxidative touch, and a refined hint of beeswax. On the palate, it is round and supple at first, before revealing a more assertive character that leads into an intense and expansive finish. Freshness and a soft bitterness bring length and harmony, resulting in a perfectly balanced wine that combines richness, depth, and elegance.
More About the winery
La Coulée de Serrant is one of France’s most revered and historic vineyards, producing wines of exceptional character and longevity. Nestled in the Loire Valley appellation of Savennières, this seven-hectare monopole has been cultivated since the 12th century by Cistercian monks and is today managed by the Joly family, pioneers of biodynamic viticulture.
Exclusively planted to Chenin Blanc, the vineyard’s steep schist slopes and low yields create wines of remarkable depth, minerality, and complexity. Each vintage of La Coulée de Serrant is unique, expressing a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, spice, floral notes, and a signature saline freshness that evolves beautifully with age.
Recognized as a French national treasure and holding its own appellation – Coulée de Serrant AOC – this estate stands among the rarest and most collectible wines in the world, sought after by connoisseurs and collectors alike.
