Tasting notes:
Nose: Subtle and evolved, with faint aromas of dried tobacco, aged leather, and fading red fruits, underscored by nuances of cedar, forest floor, and a touch of earthiness.
Palate: Light-bodied and fragile, showing delicate notes of stewed fruit and mushroom. The mid-palate is hollow, with soft, resolved tannins and muted acidity. The finish is short, gently tapering off with hints of dried herbs and old oak.

About the winery:
Château Durfort-Vivens is a prestigious Second Grand Cru Classé estate in the Margaux appellation, with a history dating back to the 14th century. Acquired by the Lurton family in 1937, the estate has seen modernizations under the leadership of Gonzague Lurton, who transitioned to organic farming in 2009 and achieved biodynamic certification in 2016.

Spanning 65 hectares across several Margaux communes, the vineyard is primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The estate’s biodynamic practices emphasize ecological balance, producing wines that express the unique terroir of Margaux.

Château Durfort-Vivens wines are renowned for their finesse and aging potential, with the flagship wine and second wine, Vivens, showcasing balance, elegance, and complexity. The estate employs a mix of traditional and innovative winemaking techniques, including aging in fine-grain oak barrels and amphorae.
