Tasting notes

Elegant and expressive, opening with aromas of citrus zest, white flowers, jasmine, and a hint of sea spray. On the palate, it is round and silky with vibrant acidity and mineral tension, revealing layers of lemon curd, peach, flint, and a subtle pastry note. The finish is long, fresh, and refined, showcasing both richness and precision - a standout example of Premier Cru Mâconnais Chardonnay.

Expert Ratings

Vinous: 91 points

"The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé has a clean and precise bouquet, tightly knit, green apple and hints of lime coming through. The palate is well balanced with a lemony opening. Harmonious, this Pouilly-Fuissé packs the quality more in the mouth than on the nose. Fine purity on the finish. Drink this over the next 5-6 years."

James Suckling: 91 points

"This is a creamy Pouilly-Fuissé showing custard, vanilla pastries, apricots and hazelnuts on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied, rounded and supple with a soft finish. Blend of chardonnay from five lieu-dits in the village of Pouilly. Drink now."

More About The Winery

Located in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, Domaine du Roc des Boutires is dedicated to producing Chardonnay of exceptional purity and finesse. With just 4.2 hectares divided into 14 distinct terroirs on the Côte de Pouilly, the estate showcases the extraordinary diversity and richness of this renowned corner of southern Burgundy.

The vineyards are farmed with respect for nature, with hand-harvesting and meticulous vineyard work ensuring the highest quality fruit. In the cellar, winemaker Brice Laffond, alongside the Parinet family (also owners of Château du Moulin-à-Vent), follows a parcel-by-parcel vinification philosophy. This approach highlights the unique identity of each terroir, resulting in wines that are precise, mineral, and deeply expressive.

Domaine du Roc des Boutires produces Pouilly-Fuissé whites that combine elegance, tension, and ageing potential — wines that appeal to both Burgundy collectors and Chardonnay lovers.
