The Domain

Located in the north of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, the Jaume family has excelled in the winemaking profession from generation to generation since 1826. Alain Jaume's family currently runs 3 vineyards: Domaine Grand Veneur, with the great single vineyeard cuvées, it is the most prestigious of the estates of this family. Then, the Clos de Sixte and Château Mazane. Alain Jaume's family respects the environment on every aspect during the vinification process. The cultivation methods are meticulous to preserve the soil and the living, a great conviction of the family. Thus, the vineyards follow the protocol of organic farming. These terroirs enable them to produce wines of great intensity, with superb balance and excellent ageing potential.

The Style

For over 20 years, Christine Vernay has used organic farming methods. Considering herself as the custodian of a land for which she is responsible for caring, she has long been committed to organic farming, long before it was fashionable or urgent to do so. She has now successfully demonstrated that, while it is difficult to work the steeply sloping vineyards using organic farming, it is not impossible.
