Founded in 1816, Mas Amiel is the benchmark estate of the Maury appellation in the Roussillon, southern France. With more than 200 hectares of vineyards planted on schist soils under the warm Mediterranean sun, Mas Amiel has built a reputation for producing both exceptional fortified wines and increasingly acclaimed dry reds and whites.
Originally famous for its vin doux naturel (fortified sweet wines), Mas Amiel has mastered the art of ageing Grenache-based cuvées in glass demijohns under the sun before transferring them to large oak casks, a method that creates wines of depth, complexity, and elegance.
