Tasting notes

A vibrant, medium-to-full-bodied Pessac-Léognan white blend offering aromas of lemon oil, pomelo, mint and white flowers, complemented by a satiny, mineral-driven palate with a long, energetic, saline finish.

Bright notes of lemon oil, fresh grapefruit and crisp stone fruit lead, with delicate hints of white blossom alongside subtle touches of fresh mint. Medium to full-bodied with a satiny, rounded texture, the wine shows a concentrated mid-palate driven by vibrant, refreshing acidity and fine mineral grip, finishing long, penetrating and distinctly saline.

More About The Winery

Château Carbonnieux – A Historic Grand Cru Classé of Graves

Founded in the 13th century by Benedictine monks, Château Carbonnieux is one of the oldest and most storied estates in Bordeaux. Located in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, the château is celebrated for both its red and white wines, a rare distinction recognized by its inclusion as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves in 1959 for both colours.

The estate spans nearly 170 hectares of gravel and limestone soils, ideally suited to cultivating Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Over centuries, Carbonnieux has become synonymous with finesse and balance, offering whites of crystalline freshness and vibrant minerality alongside reds of depth and elegance.

The château is currently owned and managed by the Perrin family, who have preserved its historical legacy while embracing modern winemaking techniques. Their focus on precision, sustainability and terroir expression ensures that Carbonnieux remains a benchmark for classic, age-worthy Bordeaux wines.

Château Carbonnieux's white wines are particularly renowned for their purity, energy and long saline finishes, often cited as among the finest dry whites of Bordeaux, while its reds offer supple tannins, aromatic complexity and remarkable longevity.
