Tasting notes
Normandy's answer to a dessert spirit: Château du Breuil's Coeur du Breuil Liqueur au Calvados (24% ABV) is a full-bodied apple liqueur built by blending aged Pays d'Auge Calvados with fresh apple juice and sugar.
The nose is intense, vigorous, and fresh, dominated by fully ripe, bright youthful apples, with subtler hints of green apple skin, quince, and dates underneath. On the palate it's moderately sweet yet balanced, the dense, refreshing fruitiness of the apple juice meeting the character and structural weight of the base Calvados; apple flavor dances powerfully across the tongue, touched by gentle woody spice and a subtle interplay between oak and alcohol. The finish is light, attractive, and fruity-sweet, closing with a delicate, fine tartness.
