Tasting notes

The 2022 Chateau de Meursault Bourgogne 'Clos du Chateau' Chardonnay white wine offers a tasting profile of yellow fruits, toasted freshness, and a delicate balance of fruit, acidity, and oak. Aromas of yellow orchard fruits, golden apple, ripe pear, white peach, and lemon zest are present, with subtle hints of vanilla and buttery brioche. The palate showcases a generous, fruit-forward character with refreshing minerality, and flavors of citrus, honeyed peach, and a gentle hazelnut note. The finish is long and elegant, with a lasting impression of toasted freshness.

More About The Winery

Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Château de Meursault is one of Burgundy’s most historic and emblematic estates. With origins dating back to the 11th century, the château is renowned not only for its architectural heritage but also for its vast network of underground cellars, among the most impressive in the region.

The estate farms an extensive vineyard holdings across some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations, including Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, and Beaune. Its terroirs are defined by limestone-rich soils, which give the wines their hallmark tension, minerality, and ageing potential.

Chardonnay is at the heart of the domaine, producing wines that express the classic Meursault profile: ripe orchard fruits, citrus, hazelnut, and subtle buttery notes, supported by a textured palate and a long, mineral finish. The reds, crafted from Pinot Noir, offer elegance, red berry fruit, and fine tannins, reflecting the finesse of the Côte de Beaune.

In recent years, Château de Meursault has undergone significant investment and renewal, with a strong focus on precision viticulture and refined winemaking techniques. The goal is clear: to elevate the expression of each terroir while preserving the estate’s historic identity.

Château de Meursault embodies the essence of Burgundy—heritage, terroir, and craftsmanship, delivering wines that are both classic in style and increasingly precise in execution.
