The Origin

In 1905, a man named Aimé Salon had a vision nobody had dared put into words. No blending across villages. No compromise of grape varieties. No release unless the year was worthy. Just one cru, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. One grape, Chardonnay. One vintage, when nature earned it. One hundred and twenty years later, Salon has kept that promise. In over a century, just 45 vintages have ever been released. The 2015 is one of them.

The Vintage

The summer of 2015 was unlike any other in living memory. After a quiet winter and a spring that set the vines in motion, budburst arriving on 14th April, flowering by 11th June, the skies over Le Mesnil-sur-Oger cleared and refused to darken.

For three unbroken months, the Champagne region bathed in record-breaking sunshine. Drought records fell. The chalk absorbed the heat. The Chardonnay grapes ripened slowly, silently, perfectly. Then, just as harvest approached on 8th September, the sun returned once more, as if nature itself had signed off on what it had made.

The Champagne

From the first moment, Salon 2015 captivates the senses. Its shimmering golden hue glints with green and silver. A graceful stream of fine bubbles releases precise, delicate bouquet: white flowers, hints of linden and honeysuckle, all underpinned by a persistent chalky quality that threads through every aroma.

The palate is generous and vibrant, balancing saline freshness with brilliance, a pure expression of its terroir. Intense and finely structured, it delivers a tasting experience where depth and refinement meet, each sip telling a story of place and time.
