Tasting notes
The 2020 Château de Meursault Corton Grand Cru 'Les Maréchaudes' is a red wine that showcases a ripe, "sunny" nose with notes of red cherries, kirsch, and blood orange, alongside a hint of oak. The palate is medium-bodied with relatively rigid tannins, and while linear and correct, it lacks the flair of the aromatics, leaving a tightly coiled finish that needs more complexity.
More About The Winery
With 60 hectares of vines – including 23 hectares in Premier Cru and Grand Cru appellations – Château de Meursault is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most prestigious estates. Its history dates back to the 11th century, and over the centuries it has passed through the hands of prominent Burgundy families, each leaving their mark.
In the 19th century, the Serre family expanded the estate and transformed the Château’s architecture, while later owners continued to develop its vineyards. In 1973, André Boisseaux, founder of the Kriter Group, restored the property with vision and passion. Since 2012, the estate has been under the stewardship of Olivier Halley, a dedicated wine lover deeply committed to Burgundy’s heritage.
Today, Château de Meursault produces wines that reflect the richness of its extraordinary terroirs, embodying finesse, depth, and the timeless grandeur of Burgundy.
